Pavel DUROV, the founder of the instant messaging app Telegram, has proposed a new idea that includes creating a marketplace for auctioning reserved and special channel usernames.
Durov’s idea of a Telegram username auction was inspired by the recent open network (TON) public auction, in which the network successfully sold special domain/wallet names. According to the official report, the network sold the username wallet.ton for almost 215,250 TON ($260,000).
In his Telegram post, Durov also added that he was extremely impressed with the scalability and speed of TON, which allowed the token to gain a serious price boost. At the time of writing, according to Coinmarketcap, the TON token is trading at $1.33, an increase of 17.12% over the past 24 hours.
