On the occasion of the World Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Day, which is celebrated annually in June, the Live Now Foundation and several musicians created the NFT collection “Words of the Future”.
The project participants were five wards who were diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This is a rare and as yet incurable disease that gradually takes away a person’s ability to move, swallow and breathe normally, and at the end takes away the voice.
Unique NFT capsules have been created as objects of digital art, each of which will preserve the stories of people with ALS about love, inspiration and dreams, about the pleasure of the opportunity to live life to the fullest, and how important it is to be needed by someone.
“People with ALS are gradually speechless, so writing down the most important words in their lives and keeping their voices in the new NFT format forever is something we could do to draw the attention of as many people as possible to eternal values, to the transience and importance of the moment – while the voice sounds …”, explains Natalia Lugovaya, CEO of the Live Now Foundation.
To the NFT-capsules recorded a unique musical accompaniment from Grechka, Elona Miller, Charusha, Give Tank (!) and Anacondaz.
The etymology of the disease and the conditions of its occurrence are still unknown, so any adult can be at risk.
Natalia Lugovaya hopes that the project “Words of the Future” will help to draw attention to the topic of ALS and raise public awareness. Objects of digital art can be purchased by everyone who wants to help the Live Now Foundation on the Distinar marketplace. Funds from the sale of NFT-capsules will go to support people with diagnosed ALS.
In early June, ten popular digital artists created an NFT collection inspired by drawings by young wards of the Russian charity fund “Butterfly Children”.
