Last week, Solana failed again. The beta version of Solana’s main network struggled with the problem for about four and a half hours, and later the validators managed to restart the main network. According to Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana Labs, an error occurred due to which the nodes generated different output data, which led to a consensus failure and, ultimately, to the disconnection of the network.
Creator of Cardano Charles Hoskinson hastened to comment on the incident, offering the developers of Solana a video about how to fix old video games. Hoskinson explained the reason for the sarcasm. According to him, this was a response to the Solana community, which previously ridiculed Cardano for trying to do everything right – using peer reviews and formal methods to avoid problems like Solana’s.
