According to the document, within the framework of the Sango project, companies associated with the crypto industry and “creating a presence in the country” will have access to tokenized assets.
The CAR has significant natural resources – deposits of diamonds, uranium, gold and oil. It is one of the poorest countries of the black continent and the world as a whole. In terms of GDP per capita at PPP, the CAR ranks third from the end of the rating with an indicator of $ 1,040 (World Bank data for 2020). Only Somalia and Burundi are worse.
Earlier, the authorities approved bitcoin as a means of payment on a par with the local franc.
