The total amount of ETH on staking in Ethereum 2.0 grew by more than $ 12.764 million after making a share of 398 thousand unique validators. This is stated in the tweet of the provider of network and financial metrics Glassnode.
It is assumed that the final transition to ETH 2.0 will take place between August and October 2022, and by this date, 10.73% of the circulating supply of Ethereum is already on staking. This process began in November 2020.
In the ETH 2.0 network, Ethereum’s proof-of-work system will be replaced by a proof-of-work system, and this will happen thanks to the “The Merge” update. In the future, transactions will be verified by stakeholders using nodes.
As of April, The Merge has already passed key test networks and a major shadow fork, and according to ETH’s main developer Preston Van Lung and co-founder Vitalik Buterin, everything points to the final deadline in August.
In connection with the planned transition of Ethereum to Eth 2.0, the blockchain company Sigma Prime, which manages the agreed ETH 2.0 lighthouse client, announced the release of version 2.3.0 on GitHub.
It is expected that the release of version 2.3.0 will fix important bugs, as well as improve the main Ethereum network and the already existing Beacon Chain. The latest version of the update closes the door for users who want to upgrade to earlier versions, with the exception of Prater and Mainnet.
