The Solana blockchain faces downtime after the cessation of production of new blocks in the network.
According to Block Explorer Solana Beach, validators have not processed new blocks for the past five hours, resulting in a complete shutdown of all its applications.
A recent post from Solana Status states that the beta version of the main network now requires a restart from validators. “Validator operators should prepare to restart mb-validators in Discord,” the report said. At the time of publication, the discussion of the restart continued in the chat of the Discord validator.
To mitigate this situation, the team asked the validators to restart the network. It has issued instructions for validators that involve creating a snapshot of a specific time interval that can cause the network to reboot.
Solana positions itself as a high-performance blockchain. But over the past year, it has experienced numerous outages and congestion of blocks. Just last month, Solana hovered for about seven hours before it was brought back online again via a validator restart.
