Cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin expands its presence in the Web3 ecosystem with the help of the decentralized Platform KuCoin Wallet.
The wallet platform is still available only for the browser, however, as the company promises, the mobile application is already in development and will be launched in June. The platform connects to the KuCoin ecosystem and provides cross-cloud integration. Customers of the exchange will be able to buy, sell, exchange and send all major digital currencies, including bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH) and the Tether (USDT) stablecoin.
The wallet is non-custodial, so users will manage their own keys. As the KuCoin ecosystem continues to implement and support the functionality of decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFT), the KuCoin Wallet roadmap will include the addition of these services as well as GameFi.
KuCoin’s own Windvane platform will support some of these features – users will be able to trade and view NFT in their wallet. In April, Windvane launched a $100 million fund for Web3 developers to help support early-stage NFT projects, says Johnny Lyu, CEO of the crypto exchange:
“Cryptocurrency wallets represent the door to the world of Web3, so they are important for users who want to participate in a decentralized ecosystem. They’ve evolved to do more than just a tool for storing digital assets. The launch of the KuCoin wallet demonstrates our determination to join the Web3 space.”
Earlier, the Romanian division of cryptocurrency exchange Coingrig reported that it would integrate its crypto wallet into the Nordigen platform to simplify user access to assets.
