The operator of the NFT-game Splinterlands began an open sale of licenses for validator nodes. This was reported to ForkLog by representatives of the project.
Owners of the node will be able to receive a monthly reward from the pool in the amount of 3.75 million SPS tokens. At the same time, 10% of payments are intended for 50-100 leading operators who participate in voting on the Delegated Proof-of-Stake consensus model.
During the pre-sale, users purchased 2,000 licenses in 11 minutes. According to the stated mechanism, this led to the burning of ~14.5 million SPS and ~1 million Vouchers. The treasury of the DAO of the project received ~ 3.6 million SPS, which is equivalent to about $ 4 million In three hours after the start of the sale, 2271 nodes were sold.
“This combustion mechanism will put enormous deflationary pressure on SPS and will be a rather revolutionary concept in the field of blockchain gaming,” said Liam Labistour, director of growth at Splinterlands.
Recall that as part of the transition to a decentralized management model, the project announced the sale of 60,000 nodes.
In March 2022, the number of battles played in Splinterlands exceeded 2 billion.
