BlockTower Capital’s CIO Ari Paul lashed out at cryptanalyst PlanB in a tweet, accusing a popular Dutch trader of “aggressively stupid” price predictions.
He called him a “Terra/IOTA/XRP” predictor on bitcoin, referring to cryptocurrencies that often face fraud charges.
PlanB’s Stock-to-Flow (S2F) model, which suggests that the price of bitcoin is constantly rising due to deflation, has gained a lot of popularity in the cryptocurrency community. Thanks to her, PlanB became one of the most influential authors on Twitter with more than 1.8 million followers.
However, the analyst became the subject of ridicule after bitcoin failed to reach the $100,000 mark by the end of 2021, peaking in early November at only $69,000. Despite this, PlanB refused to recognize the model as non-working and assured its followers that it was only lagging behind in time.
After bitcoin fell even more in early 2022 and went into the $25,000 range in May, PlanB remained unconvinced. In a recent tweet, he explained that bitcoin will reach $500,000 by the end of 2025.
PlanB went on to defend its model, arguing that it did not take into account black swan events. Ari Paul was not satisfied with these explanations, and he called the predictions “malicious fraud.”
