DeFrancesco will be the first of the racers to be paid a salary in Ethereum

Devlin DeFrancesco became the first racer of the IndyCar series, who will receive a salary in the Ethereum (ETH) cryptocurrency.

DeFrancesco has signed a sponsorship deal with Canadian cryptocurrency exchange Bitbuy. Under the terms of the agreement, the trading platform will not only pay Devlin’s team to advertise its service, but also transfer to it in ETH the income received from participation in Honda Indy Toronto races.

Almost every athlete interested in digital assets has chosen bitcoin as a means of payment. DeFrancesco was an exception to the rule, preferring Ethereum.
