The data of the company for the implementation of blockchain security PeckShield announced that, in connection with the statements of the creators of the Terra platform about the branching of the network, the appearance of fraudulent accounts posing as a fork of Terra was recorded.
A possible hard fork was reported by the founder of the Terra project Do Kwon. As a result of the division, according to the head of the company, the blockchain in its previous form will continue to exist under the updated name Terra Classic (Luna Classic). The old name will be assigned to the new blockchain. The restarted chain will work without an algorithmic binding of a stable coin and will continue to operate under the name Terra (Luna).
This Kwon proposal must go through all stages of coordination with the founders and members of the network community. However, at the moment, the initiative has not gained a majority of votes.
Against the background of contradictions in the team and the uncertainty of the future decision, fraudulent accounts appeared. Unknown persons have registered the ticker of the LUNC token on the decentralized exchange PancakeSwap and offer on their website on behalf of the new Terra Classic team to compensate for the lost funds to investors who suffered losses from the collapse of the value of UST and LUNA. Cryptocriminals offer holders to purchase the currently non-existent LUNA Classic coin for 2000 BUSD and 1 BNB.
Leadership voting on Do Kwon’s proposed hard fork began today, May 18, 2022. Assessors plan to analyze the effectiveness of this step and the timing of implementation in case of a positive vote result.
Earlier, the editors of the Crypto.ru reported that the management of the Luna Foundation assured that they would compensate for financial losses by the holder of tokens of the Terra network.
