In anticipation of the important MimbleWimble update, which will allow you to make confidential transactions, cryptokits are constantly monitoring Litecoin.
Litecoin creator Charlie Lee tweeted that the update will be activated on Thursday:
We currently assume that MWEB will be activated on May 19. We’re thinking about hosting a live stream to celebrate the occasion. Stay tuned for more details.
The lead developer of the Litecoin update, David Burkett, published a message to the nodes operators:
Anyone interested in using MWEB, and especially those who have installed one of the early release candidates, should upgrade to the official version 0.21.2 before activating MWEB. If you miss the moment, you will unfortunately need to re-synchronize the blockchain from scratch.
What could be a clear signal of investor bullish sentiment towards Litecoin is that there has been high buying activity recently. Litecoin is in the top 10 purchased cryptocurrencies among the 100 largest whales in the last 24 hours. The data is provided by the WhaleStats platform, which analyzes top ETH wallets.
After a general drop in cryptocurrency prices last week, the altcoin hit a low of $55. According to CoinGecko, LTC then recovered to $73 with a market cap of $5.05 billion.
