The law enforcement agencies of Dagestan discovered a large mining farm. Clandestine miners were located in Makhachkala, the capital of the republic. The farm consisted of 1,500 ASIC miners.
According to the TASS news agency, the owners of the farm mined cryptocurrency not only with their own equipment, but also provided services for placing the devices, connecting them to electricity and securing the ASIC miners.
“In the course of events, illegal operation of mining farms was discovered, and 1,476 high-performance machines were seized that were producing digital currency,” the agency quotes the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Security Service as saying.
So far, the value of the confiscated equipment is unknown, as is the amount of electricity illegally consumed. Now law enforcement agencies are conducting an assessment, as well as collecting materials under the articles of the Criminal Code on illegal entrepreneurship and property damage.
At the beginning of the year, the FSB announced the liquidation of another large farm in Dagestan, with 4,343 pieces of equipment totaling 500 million rubles reported to have been seized at the time.
