Wix, an international cloud platform for creating and developing websites, has added support for payments in bitcoin and other crypto assets as part of cooperation with the BitPay processing service.

According to the press release, the new option integrates with the Wix e-commerce platform. This allows merchants to accept payments in 12 crypto assets:

  • bitcoin;
  • Ethereum;
  • Litecoin;
  • Bitcoin Cash;
  • Dogecoin;
  • Wrapped Bitcoin;
  • US dollar-linked stablecoins (BUSD, DAI, GUSD, USDP and USDC);
  • the XRP token from Ripple (in some countries).

At the first stage, the option is available to sellers and buyers in the United States, Great Britain, Brazil, Australia, Canada and Germany. BitPay’s payment processing fee will be 1%.

Earlier, the partnership with the processing service was announced by the authorities of the American city of Williston. As part of the agreement, local residents were allowed to pay for utilities with bitcoin.

In April, online retailer Newegg added Dogecoin as a payment method via BitPay, and flexible workspace provider WeWork announced the acceptance of the first cryptocurrency.

In June, GoldConnect, the leading telecom company in Latin America and the Caribbean, connected a similar function.

Recall that in September, the American online retailer Shop.com added support for payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum and “several other cryptocurrencies” as part of a partnership with BitPay.
